Anna Kate is from North Carolina and is currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science at UC Berkeley. She graduated from high school in North Carolina (NC), winning the Head of School Award. There, she was president of National Honors Society and Green Club, both of which did a lot of volunteer work with reducing plastic consumption, natural resource management and ocean conservation. She has witnessed the impacts on our environment, specifically food systems, first hand when working on farms in NC and in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
She recently began her position as an associate consultant with FEED in the hopes of evolving our food system into a more sustainable one and urging others to do the same. She is also tutoring at elementary schools in Oakland to teach them about science and its fascinating application in the real world. Being very much a people’s person, she is interested in educating the public and children from young about making sustainable decisions in the food they eat, clothes they wear, and habits in daily life. She approaches almost everything with curiosity and a smile and is so excited to see what all Outside2Inside has in store!
