Nica is doing her Bachelor’s degree program at UC Berkeley and a member of the FEED at Berkeley. She grew up on an organic farm, managed three community gardens in high school, and truly have a passion for sustainable food systems. Throughout her high school, she was the student president of a non-profit called Global Student Embassy, working to empower youth from Northern California, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Panama, to be conscious community leaders through action-oriented environmental education. She helped to maintain and expand two garden projects at local high schools and one alongside a trailer park. She has lead workshops about sustainable food systems and the role of young people in creating positive change in our society.
